Monitor other POSs from the POS that you work at

If it's been set up in your store, you can use 52ViKING POS to monitor and help out at other POSs directly from the POS that you're working at.

This is especially relevant if your store has self-service checkouts (SCOs), where customers may occasionally require age verification or other types of assistance.

Example:

  • You work at the POS at your store's information desk that's located right next to the store's three SCOs.

  • If a customer at one of the SCOs requires age verification or other types of assistance, you automatically get an alert on your POS's display.

  • When you tap the alert, you can view – and work with – the display from the customer's SCO directly on your POS's display.

  • That way you can quickly acknowledge the age requirement or solve the customer's problem without having to leave the information desk.

The ability to monitor other POSs can also be useful for keeping an eye on a staffed POS that's handled by a new or inexperienced colleague, so that you can quickly help your colleague if a problem occurs.

On a POS that monitors other POSs, you'll see a row of tabs that represent the monitored POSs. That's why the feature is called monitoring tabs:

When an event that requires assistance occurs on a monitored POS (for example if a customer at an SCO requires age verification in order to buy an energy drink), the monitoring tab that represents the relevant POS gets highlighted in an attention-grabbing color. Example:

Simply tap the highlighted monitoring tab to temporarily view the display of the monitored POS on your POS's display. Using the temporary view of the other POS's display, you can then provide the required assistance.

When you're done, you can close the temporary view of the other POS's display and return to viewing your own display.
