How to set up an unconfigured 52ViKING MPOS app so shop assistants can begin to use it:
Before you set up the 52ViKING MPOS app itself, make sure that you've set up the payment solution that the 52ViKING MPOS app is going to use.
The Softpay setup guide is a PDF file. When you click a link to a PDF, some browsers don't open the PDF. Instead, they place the PDF in the browser's list of recently downloaded files, from where you can then open it. Example from the Chrome browser:
Before you set up MPOS devices to use Softpay, go to https://developer.softpay.io/softpay/devices.html (requires Softpay login) and verify that your devices meet Softpay's minimum requirements. The Softpay webpage also contains a positive list of supported devices, a list of unsupported devices, and useful advice about good security practices.
For assistance with setup of individual payment solutions, contact the payment solution provider in question.
On the Android device, tap the 52ViKING MPOS icon.
Specify the following:
Email: The e-mail address of the 52ViKING MPOS app activation user that Fiftytwo has set up for you. Ask your Fiftytwo consultant if you're in doubt.
If you don't see the Email and Password fields, it's because your organization has used their MDM (Mobile Device Management) tool to set up the device so that login isn't required.
Password: The password of the 52ViKING MPOS app activation user that Fiftytwo has set up for you.
Activation code: The app activation code from the VB01c mask on the 52ViKING store controller. The activation code associates the 52ViKING MPOS app with a particular POS ID, and consequently a POS configuration, on the store controller.
You'll see a simple 52ViKING MPOS app configuration overview (which payment solution provider to use, whether to use the device's scanner or camera, etc.). Make sure that it reflects the required configuration, and then tap Launch app.
If your organization has used a Mobile Device Management (MDM) system to deploy the 52ViKING MPOS app to Android devices in stores, the app is activated and ready to use, provided that you've set up a payment solution integration on the device (see the previous).
Next step: When you've set up the required payment solution on the device and activated and launched the 52ViKING MPOS app, shop assistants can use the 52ViKING MPOS app to sell articles.
