Manage operators in 52ViKING Store Management
This topic is primarily for administrators and other people who manage a Fiftytwo solution
You may need to have particular user rights in order to use this functionality. Ask your Fiftytwo administrator if you're in doubt.
In 52ViKING, shop assistants can have two roles: Operator or salesperson.
-
An operator is associated with a cash drawer and is responsible for the money in the cash drawer.
-
Multiple operators may use the same till during a day, but in that case they'll remove their cash drawer and make a cash statement (either on the till or on a backoffice solution) when they finish working at the till. When another operator begins working at the till, they'll bring their own cash drawer.
-
An operator can only be active on one till at a time, because there's a one-to-one relation between the operator and the money in the cash drawer that the operator uses. That means that an operator can't work on till number 2 if they're already logged in on till number 1.
-
An operator is occasionally also called a cashier.
You can manage operators for a single store as well as for multiple stores at the same time in 52ViKING Store Management. Here, we primarily describe 52ViKING Store Management for single-store management, but if you've set up synchronization between your chain's enterprise controller and your stores' store controllers, you can use 52ViKING Store Management for chain-wide store management as well.
-
Open 52ViKING Store Management in a browser, connect to the IP address or hostname of the required 52ViKING store controller, and log in.
-
Navigate to operators:

In the Operator information section, specify the following:
-
Operator ID: The unique number that will identify the operator. The number is a key field that you can't edit later.
If your organization uses a special numbering scheme for operators, it's important that you follow that scheme. Ask your Fiftytwo administrator if you're in doubt.
-
Operator name: The operator's name.
-
-
In the Details section, specify the following:
-
Category: Select the relevant shop assistant category. The category determines the operator's user rights and consequently which features they're able to use.
-
Profile: Some organizations use operator profiles to determine different operators' opening balances. If relevant, select an operator profile.
