Order management

The Fiftytwo suite of APIs makes 52ViKING ideal for:

  • handling and calculating click & collect orders

  • offering endless aisles

Endless aisles is a retail concept that enables physical stores to offer customers a greater selection of articles that what's available in the stores themselves. This is convenient for both customers and stores because it helps prevent lost sales and wasted time, for example if:

  • an article is sold out in the store

  • an article isn't available in the quantity that the customer wants to buy

  • an article is too bulky to sell in the store

In such cases, the customer can simply order the non-available articles in-store, through an API-facilitated integration between the chain's POS and eCommerce solutions. They can then have the articles delivered to their doorstep, to the store for pickup, or to another pickup point of their choice.

The order management capabilities offered by the Fiftytwo suite of APIs let customers start an order either in-store or on a webshop and finish it elsewhere, so it provides:

  • Integration between web and physical stores

  • Sales through web and in-store purchases

  • The basis for click & collect

  • The basis for endless aisles

It provides features such as:

  • Creation of new orders

  • Consistent order handling

  • Order handling from chain level down to individual stores

  • Adding and changing of order lines and calculation

  • Payment registration (via payment gateway)

  • Registering of complete order – calculated by external system

  • Viewing of order status and receipt ID

In other words: an ideal solution for order handling between web and physical stores, be it for endless aisles or click & collect.
