52ViKING credit sales
52ViKING (previously also known as 52RETAIL) supports credit sales, also known as account sales.
You can register payments from credit customers at the tills, in your store's back-office system, or in an external debtor system. On the till, you can register account numbers on the till either by using a magnet card reader, by scanning a barcode on the account card, or by entering them via the keyboard.
If you manage credit customers in an external debtor system, you can automatically transfer the sales data and payment data to the external system. Alternatively, 52ViKING can print out an account statement. On the account statement, each receipt appears as a single post on one line, but you can choose to add a specification of the entire purchase, that is all article lines that appear on the receipt.
You can carry out control checks to see if a credit customer's account is blocked, expired, or if it has exceeded its credit maximum.
You can issue more than one card per account. 52ViKING can manage up to nine cards per account. This means that if a card is lost, you don't need to close the account and give the customer a new number. You only need to block the lost card and issue a new one with a new card serial number.
You can set up a negative account list of accounts that should be blocked. The negative list can, for example, contain customers with lost cards, defaulted accounts, and customers who want use of their cards to be monitored.
All account numbers that aren't blocked by the negative account list can then be accepted as valid payment.
If you want to do positive credit checks on accounts, you can include all accounts in a file. Only account numbers that are found in the file and subsequently pass the credit check will then be accepted.
You can define a credit maximum for each account. That way, you can check if an account's maximum spending limit has been exceeded before you accept payment from the account.
If required, you can even define a time-limited credit maximum for individual customers, for example in connection with shopping during a festive season.
Spending limits normally require that posts from the debtor system are regularly transferred to 52ViKING.
You can print the customer's name and address on the receipt in connection with positive credit checks and spending limits. If the customer must sign a copy of the receipt, you can automatically print a copy of the receipt for the customer to sign.
You can configure exactly which information to print on the receipt. Instead of printing the customer's address, you can, for example, print account information.
If a customer wants to pay money into their account, you can register the required amount together with the customer's account number, and the customer can then use any allowed payment method.
