Add new till in 52ViKING Store Management
This topic describes how to add configurations for traditional stationary till points of sale (no matter whether they're hosted on-premise or in the cloud, or whether they're staffed tills or self-service checkouts (SCOs)). Bear in mind that points of sale may also be mobile ones that you set up an manage in a different way (see 52ViKING MPOS).
When your store needs a new till, you can either:

add a new till configuration from scratch
- or -

clone the configuration of an existing till and then use that as the basis for the new till's configuration
Add new till configuration

Open 52ViKING Store Management in a browser, connect to the IP address or hostname of the required 52ViKING store service, and log in.

Navigate to till configuration:

Expand
the menu in the left part of the page -
Expand Store maintenance
-
Select Terminal configuration
-
-
In the top right part of the Terminal configuration page, click
. -
Configure the till and save your changes as described in Manage tills in 52ViKING Store Management.
The till configuration page may show a number of errors. That's simply because you're configuring the till from scratch so that you haven't yet defined some required settings. The errors will go away as you complete the configuration.
Clone existing till's configuration
With this option, you can find an existing till that has a suitable configuration, and then that as the basis for the new till's configuration.

Open 52ViKING Store Management in a browser, connect to the IP address or hostname of the required 52ViKING store service, and log in.

Navigate to till configuration:

Expand
the menu in the left part of the page -
Expand Store maintenance

Select Terminal configuration
-

Find the till configuration that you want to clone:

In the filters section at the top of the Terminal configuration page, search
for the required till's number or name.

In the row that represents the required till, click the Copy
icon. -
Configure the till and save your changes as described in Manage tills in 52ViKING Store Management.
The till configuration page may show a number of errors. That's because you're configuring the till based on another till's configuration, so that some required settings must be changed (for example, you can't reuse the other till's Till number, so you must change it). The errors will go away as you complete the configuration.
Good to know
View till's user interface
When you've saved you changes to a till's configuration, and updated the till's master data, you may want to view the till's user interface to verify that your changes look and work alright: See View till from Store Management.
Unblock till
A new till is by default blocked until you've configured it and it's ready to use. If the till configuration page keeps saying that the till is blocked, you can unblock the till: See Unblock till.
